Find out moreTalking to the Managing Partner of a small legal firm this week, its team are weighing up the pros and cons of investing in a CRM (‘Client Relationship Management’) system. Larger, multi-office firms have adopted CRM to varying degrees of success, but the age old ‘garbage in-garbage out’ theory holds true. The downside is that CRM costs money and for many small firms, projects requiring major investment have had to be put on hold over the last couple of years. The upside is that for professional services firms, relationships with clients and stakeholders are the lifeblood of the business. Anything which helps busy fee earners with transactionsal deadlines looming to keep track of opportunities, as well as understanding who knows who within their organisation can reap huge rewards. Used properly, I have seen at first hand how some firms’ investment in CRM has easily paid its keep, and played a major role in winning new work and keeping clients happy.
